Dog has been man's best friend for 33,000 years . Over the years, farmers have used dogs for agricultural purposes. The usefulness of dogs in agriculture can be classified under three main roles – herding, guarding, and hunting.
Livestock guardian dogs were developed to protect domestic animals and from predators by marking their territory through posturing and barking. In some cases, livestock guardian dogs use physical aggression against intruders to protect the farmer’s herd although they tend to be gentle when not actively protecting another animal.
